WORLDZ: Losing Sight of the Shore

The Queen’s Local Band Hangout

Long Beach’s iconic Queen Mary unveils their monthly “Local Band Hangout” event where up-and-coming artists perform in the ship’s striking 1936 Art Deco Observation Bar.

The concert series kicks-off on January 19 (8pm) with Halle Johnson and Black Noise, and continues the third Thursday of each month. Arrive early for Happy Hour (5-7pm), purchase your ridiculously low priced $10 ticket, and enjoy an intimate venue which is sure to please music-lovers and history buffs alike.

Formerly the Queen Mary’s First-Class Lounge, the chic Observation Bar & Art Deco Lounge is a beautifully designed slice of history, complete with original artwork, distinct torchiere lamps, and other handsome décor, giving the room a soft, retro glow.

Lightning In A Bottle: Fluidity

Back for 2017, the unique minds behind Lightning In A Bottle are prepping for another amazing experience and have released an intriguing video to get things started.

Discounted 4-Day Festival Passes will be available for purchase during the Earlybird Pre-sale on January 3rd at 10am. Other ticket types available include Vehicle Passes, Early Arrival Passes, Boutique Camping Packages, and Lightning Bus Passes. Furthermore, there are now oversized RV tickets for recreational vehicles, vehicles towing travel campers and buses.

It’s important to note that NO single day or 2 day passes will be available for the 2017 festival, as LIB is a 4 (or 5) day experience.

‘Fyre Festival’ in the Bahamas

Home to Blackbeard and playground to Pablo Escobar, the Bahamas’ Fyre Cay private island is to be transformed into a festival-goers paradise for 2017.

The festival offers guests a once in a lifetime experience featuring two weekends of music, culture, art, food AND more than $1 million of treasure and jewels hidden on the island. Yeah, REAL treasure!

Ondalinda 2016: Aftermovie

The destination festival, Ondalinda, took place on the picturesque beaches of Costa Careyes for an inaugural journey that fused the music, art and culture of Mexico with musicians from around the globe.

Travelers from Mexico City, Berlin, Los Angeles, London, Paris and New York gathered to exchange ideas, stories, and a love for taking in extraordinary experiences. Set against a secluded playground, guests were treated to mud baths, jungle yoga, regional Mexican cuisine, local excursions and stunning Huichol artisanal crafts.

The Ondalinda experience incorporated mind-blowing decorations from Mexican artist Philippe Moellhausen and included memorable performances from Sabo, Justin Boreta, Daniel Pardo, NU, Audiofly, LUM, Mandrake, Mendrix, Sabo, and Gandalla.

Above all, Ondalinda was focused on giving back to the local indigenous culture with a portion of profits from the event, and other private donations, given to the Mexican foundation Conservacion Humana to help the Huichol tribe protect their land.

Rocky 40th Anniversary Boxing Game

The free iOS game celebrates the 40th anniversary of the iconic film ROCKY; the underdog story of a fighter who rises up from the slums to go the distance against the heavyweight champion of the world.

Girlschool Festival 2017

Los Angeles-based women-led collective, GIRLSCHOOL, celebrates and connects women artists, leaders, and voices through an online platform and music related events.

In January 2017 the Second Annual Women-Fronted Music Festival takes place at the Bootleg Theater of which a portion of the proceeds will benefit ‘Rock’n’Roll Camp for Girls LA’ a social justice organization that uses loud music to nurture self-esteem and self-expression in young girls.

This year’s lineup includes Chelsea Wolfe, The Bird and The Bee, Francisca Valenzuela, Deap Vally, Caroline Smith, Pearl Charles, Winter, Rituals of Mine, Luna Shadows, Madame Gandhi, Starcrawler, Trace, Kid Wave, Liphemra, KONA, Soto Voce, and DJ sets from Gavin Turek, Tamaryn, Honey Power, and Val Fleury. CICLO: Transforming Our Social Fabric

Seeking to transform Mexico’s environment and strengthen community through specialized workshops, CICLO is an alternative citizen education project which focuses on cultural, social, artistic and citizen “actions”.

This interdisciplinary approach reimagines the reuse of public spaces addressing such themes as Community Linkage, Environment Design, Urban Gardens, and Contemporary Urban Painting.

Workshops are led by a group of specialized professionals who work with the community to make collective decisions. Development is captured, and promoted, through documentaries, photographs, and exhibitions celebrating each community’s distinct social fabric.
