Inaugural “Krewe du Kanaval”

New for Mardi Gras 2018, “Krewe du Kanaval” will be taking place in New Orleans raising funds to benefit the Preservation Hall Foundation and KANPE–two not-for-profit organizations which serve important unmet social and cultural needs in New Orleans and Haiti.

The inaugural Krewe du Kanaval on February 6th celebrates Haiti and the multitude of cultures that have enriched New Orleans’ identity for hundreds of years with a combination of parades, parties and music.

This joint effort between Preservation Hall, Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire, includes a parade/procession through the French Quarter and Treme, a free afternoon festival in Armstrong Park and a ticketed Kanaval Ball at the iconic club One Eyed Jacks.

Performances will also feature the world-famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band, DJ Nickodemus, Pierre Kwenders, DJ Cosmo Gonik, Paul Beaubrun and special guests from Haiti including RAM.
