Re-Defining “Disposable”

Confronting the relationship between human displacement and the disposable culture of the 21st century, Disposable draws upon personal experiences of displacement—some as immigrants, others as members of marginalized groups in society.

Produced by GRoW @ The Wallis and created/performed by The Wallis Youth Theater Company, this visceral, witty and highly physical theater piece takes place on a stage littered with the trash of contemporary life, and performed in English, Romanian, Farsi and Spanish.

At its core, “Disposable” is a call-to-action for the planet, and therefore will highlight various environmental and human rights organizations in the hopes of informing the public and encouraging direct involvement that may support new ways of interacting with the natural world and the rights of the displaced, refugees and immigrants.
